It’s a strange time to be writing erotica and romance. Okay, let’s face it, it’s a strange time period. That’s one thing we can all agree on.
I sincerely hope you are all healthy and safe and employed and not tearing your hair out from boredom. I’m extremely thankful to report that I’m doing fine.
Like many writers, I found myself in a bit of a quandary. Is it okay to write fun, light, sexy, stories when so many people are suffering? For a few weeks there, the answer was easy. No. My mind wouldn’t let me focus. I couldn’t read anything that required deep thought. Luckily I keep lightweight books on hand for such occasions. Some of what I did manage to write wasn’t any good. (I have the rejections to prove it.)
I did finally get into a groove and start the first book of my upcoming Colorado Cowboys series, so that’s good. I don’t have a release date planned as I’m one of those panster types. No outlining, just writing ‘by the seat of my pants.’ It’ll be done when it’s done kind of thing. Next, I wrote an erotic story. I figure, I haven’t stopped having sex or thinking about sex, so there’s no reason to think that everyone else has.
If you’re interested, it’s out now at MyErotica. (Thanks Rose!) I chose to write about two people who wouldn’t normally be interested in each other. Both are restless, bored, and of course, horny as hell. You can read it here: Beating off with the Butler.
That’s it for now.
Happy Reading (And stay safe)
